Apex Kinshasa

Apex

In the heart of Africa, Kinshasa is a city of over 18 million people, and has the potential to influence much of central Africa and beyond. However, high unemployment, poor education, corruption, false teaching, etc., leaves many in Kinshasa marginalized, impoverished, without truly knowing Jesus, and hopeless for a better future. Our team partners with local churches to reach the most marginalized with Gospel Initiatives. Some of these include:

  • Tabitha Center (vocational skills and Bible to young women)
  • Global Fingerprints/Tabitha (a branch of Tabitha Center where the girls are sponsored and learn literacy)
  • Follow Me (vocational skills and Bible for young men)
  • Kids Action Network (using storytelling to teach children to know, love, and obey the Word)
  • Church Health and Church Planting (training church leaders in what healthy, transformational churches look like)

How you'll serve

We invite you to come to learn about the different ministries and context first-hand, and spend time connecting more deeply with one of the ministries. All students will experience daily life tasks in Kinshasa (shopping, cooking, getting around), and learn about the language and culture of Kinshasa. Those interested in women’s ministry could spend time regularly at the same Tabitha Center, sharing your testimony, and getting to know the students and their stories. Those interested in children’s ministry, on the other hand, could spend time weekly at the same Bible story club, and Sunday Schools, and help to develop activities to be used in a VBS later in the summer.

Meet our missionaries

The Reach Global Kinshasa City Team serves to strengthen and revitalize the ministry of the local church and to see new churches planted through gospel initiatives, which give churches real ways to reach those around them. Our team is mostly made up of the Congolese leaders of each of our ministries. Some are Reach Global missionaries and others are volunteers. We also have two American Reach Global missionaries serving locally as the communications coordinator of the different ministries and as the site coordinator of the Global Fingerprints/Tabitha program.
