God called Pastor Drew Zuehlke and his friends to plant a church in Columbia Heights just north of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Drew has an exciting vision to reach this community with the gospel and establish a ministry presence in this diverse and multicultural community. Hope Heights started in 2020 as one of the locations of Hope Community Church.

On this Apex trip you will come alongside Pastor Drew and Hope Heights to learn about church planting and see how God can use your students in reaching their communities. Drew offers great practical activities and hands on learning to engage students, leading them to understand and consider how to better engage with the people around them. Your students will also come alongside Hope Community Church as they serve their community and open doors for the gospel. They are excited to introduce you to their neighbors and spend a week as part of the Hope family.

How You'll Serve

  • Learn about church planting and hear stories of how God is using people to reach this community — Drew will share with your students and connect your students with local gospel influencers who are faithfully allowing God to use them for gospel impact.
  • Party at the Park — Spend some of your nights playing with neighborhood kids at the park: playing soccer, gaga ball, making bracelets, meeting parents, and building relationships. This provides opportunities to get to know, pray for, and share your own story with others.
  • Practical Service Projects — Groups will be serving in various service projects around Columbia Heights in the name of Hope Community Church — Heights. Support Hope's work by serving with their community partners.
