Frequent wars have forced millions to flee their homes and endure tremendous suffering. Their displacement has also caused unprecedented receptivity to the gospel. EFCA ReachGlobal is uniquely positioned to minister along transit routes and at destinations of this mass movement of people.
We are responding to this crisis by partnering with national churches to minister to physical needs while developing relationships with entire families in order to share the gospel. As home churches develop, we help partners identify and equip emerging church leaders.
This role of Refugee Ministry Coordinator is committed to establishing networks of house churches in a high-persecution contexts.
Responsibilities:
- Tangibly minister Christ’s love among hurting people
- Develop ministry strategy
- Develop and oversee short-term teams from stateside churches and colleges
- Work alongside a team of people sharing their faith with locals
- Spend many hours per week learning language, culture, and best-practice for ministry
- Develop local friendships
- Spend many evenings talking, laughing, and drinking tea with local friends and team
- Encourage and disciple new believers as they learn to walk with Jesus
Qualifications:
- Leadership skills and experience
- Training in disaster/crisis response
- Strong friendship-building skills
- Humble learner: willingness to learn Arabic, history and culture
- Deep love for people and a broken heart for the lost
