Explore Lilongwe, Malawi

ReachGlobal

Lilongwe, the capital city of Malawi, is a vibrant and welcoming place, home to more than 1.2 million people. Malawi—a country of 20 million—is among the world’s poorest nations, yet its people are incredibly resilient, hopeful and capable. The stability of the government and the warmth of the population create an ideal environment for ministry.

Spiritually, however, there is significant confusion surrounding the gospel. Many in Malawi navigate a blend of influences, including syncretism, the prosperity gospel, traditional African religions and a growing Islamic presence. The need is urgent for authentic Christ followers to serve as catalysts for true spiritual transformation. This is the heart of our ministry.

Our primary focus in Malawi is making disciples—one person at a time—and equipping Malawians to transform their families, churches and communities through the love of Christ. Explore participants will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of ministries, receive mentoring, grow in their passions and gifts and invest in Malawian youth through healthy disciple-making relationships.

Our heartbeat is to walk alongside others, helping them know and follow Jesus every day. We invite you to join us in Malawi and be part of a growing movement bringing gospel-centered transformation—one life at a time. As you serve and devote yourself to Christ, you’ll make a difference and be transformed in the process.

Meet Our Missionaries

Our team includes four ReachGlobal staff members and one South African partner. We are blessed by a large and growing group of national (Malawian) leaders who form the core of our ministry. Our goal is empowerment. We work intentionally to ensure every ministry is led by Malawians, while our role as missionaries is to support, encourage and mentor them to lead with passion, confidence and grace—so that God’s work continues to grow and bring real change.
