Explore Mexico City
Mexico City is one of the most strategic places in the world to reach with the gospel. With a population of more than 21 million, it is one of the largest and most influential cities in the Western Hemisphere. As the largest Spanish-speaking city globally, Mexico City has a significant impact on Spanish-speaking countries across Central and South America, as well as the growing Hispanic populations in the United States and Canada.
It is also the heart of Mexico. The nation’s politics, religion, economy, culture, education and history all find their deepest roots here. Reaching Mexico City with the gospel offers the potential to influence not only the city, but the entire country and beyond. Much like the apostle Paul's approach of reaching key urban centers to spread the gospel, targeting Mexico City offers a powerful opportunity to help fulfill the Great Commission.
Our prayer is that this experience will deepen your faith and prepare you to serve God's kingdom wherever He leads you. Come be part of what God is doing in Mexico City.
Meet Our Missionaries
Our City Team consists of six people with diverse ministry focuses and passions. Our primary goal is church planting and supporting existing local churches. Because evangelism, discipleship and missions all flow through the local church, we prioritize serving in and through local congregations.
We follow a rhythm of life that emphasizes living missionally in our everyday contexts rather than depending on large-scale events or programs. We seek to equip and support Mexican leaders, empowering them to take primary leadership roles for long-term impact. Our six core ministry priorities are:
- Church planting
- Leadership development
- Evangelism
- Discipleship
- Holistic ministry
- Gospel partnerships
These strategies guide our mission to glorify God and multiply transformational churches among all people.

What You’ll Learn
Participants will gain experience in missional living and explore topics such as immigration and the Bible, Catholicism in Mexico, handling culture shock and navigating life in a major global city. You'll also take Spanish classes and engage in a variety of ministry settings that will grow your faith and deepen your understanding of cross-cultural ministry.
How You’ll Serve
- Local church ministry – Serving the local church is central to our team’s mission. You’ll be connected with a local Mexican church where you’ll worship on Sundays, participate in a community group and build meaningful relationships.
- English conversation outreach – Many Mexicans are eager to improve their English, and this opens doors for gospel conversations. Through English Conversation Clubs, we create spaces where believers and nonbelievers can connect and build relationships centered on Christ.
- Immigrant ministry – Mexico City is a key stop for migrants from across Latin America. Most are fleeing difficult circumstances and are extremely vulnerable. Our team partners with Casa Tochan, a refuge for migrants, to serve and care for them in various ways.
- College campus ministry – Students from across Mexico and the world come to Mexico City for university. This presents a powerful opportunity for evangelism and discipleship. Our team partners with Cru, InterVarsity and other campus ministries to reach this population.
Housing
Our preference is for students to stay with a Mexican host family (no prior Spanish is required). If host families are unavailable, students may stay with one of our missionary families. If needed, an Airbnb will serve as a third option.
